Our story began in West Seattle with just five raised beds and a rain barrel. That little backyard garden was where Mountain to Sound Gardens first took root and where Bryan discovered his passion for growing food.
After a challenging first year, Bryan knew he wanted to turn that passion into more than a hobby. He joined Seattle Tilth’s Red Barn Ranch program, where he learned the ins and outs of running a farm business. His first season yielded only a small harvest, but it was enough to spark a dream. When the program lost its land, Bryan carried forward the lessons, determination, and a few jars of dry beans from his first successful crop.
That journey led him to Sno-Valley Tilth, where he leased a quarter acre and sold produce weekly at the Carnation Farmers Market. It was here that Bryan proved to himself—and his community—that with perseverance and hard work, farming was more than possible. During that time, Mountain to Sound Gardens found its forever home and became what is now Summit Acres.
